Man Punches Female Officer During Bar Fight Arrest

Aeron Forbes was arrested by Athens-Clarke County Police after punching a female officer in the mouth during a bar fight arrest on Clayton Street in downtown Athens, Georgia. The incident began when police responded to a fight that had spilled out of a local bar onto the street.

Bodycam footage shows Forbes striking Officer Natalie in the face while officers attempted to detain him, despite his repeated claims that he was "not resisting." Under Georgia law, striking a police officer constitutes battery on a peace officer, a felony offense under O.C.G.A. § 16-5-23.1(c).

Following his arrest, Forbes was transported to booking where he repeatedly asked about his missing Nike SB Dunk "Panda" shoes more than ten times while handcuffed in the back of a patrol car. During the extended booking process, Forbes made threats to sue the officers and made accusations against law enforcement personnel.

The other individual involved in the original bar fight received only a disorderly conduct citation and was released within two hours. Forbes remained in custody facing the more serious felony charge for assaulting the officer.

Forbes faces charges of battery on a peace officer, a felony under Georgia state law.
