A Miami man was arrested Sunday after stealing a bicycle from a Flagler County grocery store and being found in possession of $70,000 worth of fraudulent bank checks. Samuel Muslaire, 23, was taken into custody by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office near the intersection of North Ocean Shore Boulevard and Camino Del Mar Parkway.

Deputies initially responded to Publix at Hammock Beach Centre after a customer reported their new bicycle had been stolen from the store's entrance area. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and issued a be-on-the-lookout alert for the suspect.

Deputy Corey Rittenour spotted Muslaire riding the stolen bicycle a short time later. During the arrest and subsequent investigation, deputies discovered Muslaire was carrying a substantial amount of fraudulent bank checks totaling approximately $70,000.

The case began as a simple bicycle theft but expanded significantly once the fraudulent documents were discovered. The incident highlights how routine property crimes can sometimes uncover larger criminal enterprises involving financial fraud.

Muslaire faces charges related to both the bicycle theft and the possession of fraudulent bank checks. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full scope of the alleged fraud scheme.
