Woman Asleep at Wheel Blows Four Times Legal Limit

A woman was arrested for DUI after being found asleep behind the wheel of her running SUV on a residential street in Boca Raton, Florida, on May 8, 2025. The Boca Raton Police Department responded after a neighbor reported the vehicle had been parked in the roadway for roughly an hour with music playing loudly.

When officers arrived, they found the woman asleep inside the vehicle with the engine running. She was unable to tell responding officers what city she was in and gave conflicting statements about where she had been traveling from.

During field sobriety exercises, the woman had difficulty distinguishing her left hand from her right. Officers determined she showed signs of significant impairment and placed her under arrest for driving under the influence.

Breath testing at the scene returned results of .335 and .349, more than four times Florida's legal limit of .08 under section 316.193 of the Florida Statutes. She later refused to submit to a blood test after being transported to a hospital.

The Boca Raton Police Department listed the incident under case number 2025-005282. Bodycam footage of the arrest was obtained through a Florida public records request.

This marks the woman's second appearance in bodycam footage related to a DUI stop. According to the video description, this Boca Raton incident actually occurred before a separate DUI case involving the same woman that took place in July 2025, though that footage was published first.

The case remains on record with the Boca Raton Police Department under the DUI charge filed pursuant to Florida Statute 316.193.
