Drunk Motorcyclist Arrested After Crash and Flight

Flagler County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 66-year-old motorcyclist Sunday evening after he crashed his Harley-Davidson on U.S. Highway 1 and fled the scene while intoxicated.

A witness called 911 to report observing a motorcycle crash, describing the rider as appearing drunk and smelling of alcohol. The caller watched as the man uprighted his motorcycle and left the crash scene.

Deputies located Glenn Munger of Hastings near the crash site and conducted a traffic stop. When asked what was happening, Munger told deputies, "I got a little buzzed. You know what I'm saying."

Munger exhibited classic signs of intoxication including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol. While he maintained his balance while standing, deputies discontinued field sobriety exercises due to safety concerns after observing his excessive swaying and near falls on multiple occasions.

The arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of citizen reporting in preventing potentially dangerous situations involving impaired drivers. Munger faces charges related to driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
