Flagler Deputies Arrest 3 Men in Fentanyl Overdose Probe

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested three men on Aug. 6 after executing a residential search warrant in Palm Coast, Florida, as part of an ongoing overdose death investigation that began in July.

The FCSO Special Investigations Unit, Major Case Unit, and SWAT team served the warrant at a residence on Roxbury Lane. As SWAT deputies approached, they observed one occupant, later identified as Michael McDermott, 39, run from the back patio into the residence toward the main bedroom. Deputies also saw multiple occupants move from the living room to the same bedroom.

SWAT deputies breached the front door and secured four occupants inside the home without incident. Those detained included McDermott, Matthew Green, 38, and Kavin Price, 50.

During the search, detectives located fentanyl and narcotics paraphernalia in plain view throughout the residence. Investigators also recovered multiple ripped, wet plastic bags found in the shower. Detectives noted the location and condition of the bags as part of their ongoing investigation into the source of the fentanyl linked to the July overdose death.

The search warrant and arrests stem from a broader investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office into narcotics distribution believed to be connected to a fatal overdose in the county. Authorities have not released additional details on the specific charges filed against each of the three men.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has not indicated whether additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues. The case remains under review by the Special Investigations Unit and Major Case Unit.
