Florida Woman Arrested for DUI After Failing Sobriety Tests

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman on charges of driving under the influence after multiple callers reported erratic driving in a residential area of Flagler County, Florida. Deputies located the woman's vehicle stationary in the middle of the road.

Upon making contact, deputies observed that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt and found an open container of beer in the center console. She told deputies she had been giving a stranger a ride home and admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving.

Deputies asked the woman to complete a series of field sobriety exercises. According to the Sheriff's Office, she abandoned all five tests before they could be completed. Based on her performance and other observations at the scene, deputies placed her under arrest for driving under the influence.

Bodycam footage shows the woman repeatedly asking deputies to contact her daughter throughout the traffic stop. She also listed several medical conditions to deputies during the encounter.

While being transported following her arrest, the woman made statements in the back seat of the patrol vehicle threatening the arresting deputy's employment. The footage captures these statements as she continued to speak during the ride.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office released the bodycam video showing the entirety of the traffic stop, the field sobriety tests, and the transport following the arrest. The footage was obtained through a public records request under Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes.

All individuals featured in bodycam footage are presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law. Statements made by any person in the footage are their own and are not presented as established fact.
