Key West Woman Arrested After Blowing 0.151 in DUI Stop
Rebecca Anne Marrero was arrested by Key West Police in the early morning hours after officers responded to reports of a vehicle stopped in the roadway with its hazard lights on. Callers had reported a disturbance involving the vehicle before officers arrived on scene.
When officers made contact with Marrero, she told them she was waiting to pick up her daughter. She said she had consumed one drink, described as a Double Jack and Coke, after finishing her work shift.
Officers observed signs that led them to request Marrero perform a series of field sobriety exercises. Bodycam footage shows her responses to officer questioning during the stop before the exercises began.
Following the field sobriety tests, Marrero provided two breath samples. The results showed blood alcohol content levels of 0.151 and 0.144. Both readings were nearly double Florida's legal limit of 0.08 for operating a vehicle.
Based on the breath test results and the field sobriety exercises, officers placed Marrero under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The stop took place in Key West, Florida.
The bodycam footage was obtained through a public records request. Marrero faces a DUI charge in connection with the incident. Additional case details, including court proceedings, have not been released.
