A 19-year-old Rhode Island man was arrested in Flagler County, Florida on Tuesday after fleeing from deputies in a stolen Ferrari that was taken during an armed home invasion. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office apprehended the suspect following a high-speed pursuit that ended when he attempted to hide at a Palm Coast residence.

The incident began around noon when the FCSO Communications Center received notification from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office about a blue 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider that had fled from their jurisdiction. The luxury sports car had been stolen in Rhode Island several days earlier during an armed home invasion.

Deputies located the Ferrari in Flagler County and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect refused to pull over and led law enforcement on a dangerous high-speed chase. The pursuit continued through the county until the driver eventually abandoned the vehicle and tried to conceal himself at a residential property in Palm Coast.

Flagler County deputies successfully apprehended the suspect without further incident. The Ferrari was recovered and returned to the proper authorities for processing as evidence in the original Rhode Island armed robbery case.

The 19-year-old faces multiple charges related to the pursuit and vehicle theft. He remains in custody pending extradition proceedings to Rhode Island where he will face additional charges connected to the armed home invasion.
