Driver Claims 45 MPH Despite Speedometer Frozen at 98

Victoria Floyd was arrested for DUI following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and Harve Mathis Road in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia on a Wednesday afternoon. Multiple witnesses captured video footage of Floyd's black sedan pursuing a white sedan at high speed down U.S. Highway 29.

The chase concluded when Floyd's vehicle collided with a minivan that was making a turn at the intersection. When Athens-Clarke County officers arrived at the scene, Floyd claimed she had been traveling at "45, maybe 50" miles per hour. However, her car's speedometer was found frozen at 98 miles per hour.

Bodycam footage shows Floyd undergoing field sobriety testing at the crash site. During the arrest process, Floyd made claims about having vertigo as officers conducted their investigation. The bodycam video captures her responses to officers' questions and her behavior during the sobriety tests.

Following her field evaluation, Floyd was transported to a hospital where the DUI investigation continued. The footage documents the entire arrest process from the initial crash scene through her hospital transport.
