Woman Arrested After Spitting on Officer in Key West

A woman was arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after spitting on a police officer during a civil dispute in Key West, Florida. Officers were dispatched to a business regarding a reported civil dispute involving a rental golf cart between two intoxicated women and a rental company.

When officers arrived and explained that the matter was civil in nature and would not require a police report, the situation quickly escalated. The women became confrontational and refused to comply with repeated lawful commands to leave the area.

During the encounter, one woman physically grabbed an officer and subsequently spat on him, prompting her immediate arrest. As officers attempted to escort the suspect from the scene, the second woman interfered with the arrest process by physically obstructing officers and refusing to be handcuffed.

Additional officers were called to the scene to assist with both suspects, who continued to resist arrest efforts. The interference by the second woman led to her arrest as well, as she refused commands and actively resisted officers' attempts to take her into custody.
