Deputies Find Drugs After Driver Flees Traffic Stop
Deputies discovered controlled substances after a vehicle fled during a traffic stop and was later found abandoned, according to bodycam footage released by law enforcement.
The incident began when deputies attempted to make contact with a parked vehicle. The car suddenly fled the scene before officers could complete their approach. Deputies located the abandoned vehicle a short distance away with no occupants inside.
Officers canvassed the surrounding area and located a man matching the suspect description nearby. The individual was taken into custody during the search operation. No contraband was found on the suspect during the initial search.
Deputies continued searching the area around the abandoned vehicle. Officers recovered a coin purse containing multiple controlled substances during their investigation. The discovery led to additional arrests and felony drug charges being filed.
The case demonstrates how traffic stops can escalate when suspects attempt to evade law enforcement contact. Deputies followed standard procedures in searching both the suspect and the surrounding area after the vehicle was abandoned.
All charges filed in connection with this incident are allegations pending adjudication in court.
