K-9 Apprehends Suspect After Stolen Vehicle Chase in Florida
Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man accused of multiple thefts in the Daytona North area after he fled from law enforcement and was apprehended by a K-9 unit on December 15.
Deputies responded to a reported vehicle burglary in Daytona North, located in western Flagler County. The victim told investigators his truck had been stolen overnight and suspected Jake Kasica, who had previously stolen the same vehicle.
The victim went to a residence on Holly Lane where he had recovered his truck in a previous incident. He found his truck at the location with a man he believed to be Kasica inside the vehicle.
When the victim confronted the suspect, the man fled in the stolen truck. The victim pursued the suspect before stopping and contacting law enforcement.
Based on the victim's report and previous incidents involving Kasica, deputies began searching for the suspect. The pursuit ended when a K-9 unit successfully apprehended the fleeing suspect.
The incident occurred in the Mondex area of western Flagler County. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office recovered the stolen vehicle during the operation.
The suspect faces charges related to vehicle theft and the multiple reported thefts in the area.
