Mother Charged After Child Remains Found in Suitcases
A Cleveland mother was arrested and charged with aggravated murder after the remains of two children were discovered in suitcases buried in a field behind a school. The discovery was made on March 2, 2026, when a man walking his dog near East 162nd Street and Midland Avenue in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood noticed his dog fixated on a partially buried suitcase.
Inside the suitcase, the man found the remains of a child and immediately contacted authorities. Cleveland police responded to the scene and conducted a search of the area, locating a second suitcase nearby that also contained child remains.
The victims were identified as half-sisters Amor Wilson, 10, and Mila Chatman, 8. Following an investigation, police executed a search warrant at a nearby residence on March 4, 2026, leading to the arrest of the children's mother, 28-year-old Aliyah Henderson.
During the search of Henderson's residence, officers discovered a third child, age 6, who was found in good health and subsequently placed into protective custody. Henderson was charged with two counts of aggravated murder in connection with the deaths of both children.
Bond for Henderson was set at $2 million. The case remains active in the Cuyahoga County court system.
