Palm Coast Woman Arrested at Carrabba's After Bicyclist Crash

Deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman outside a Carrabba's Italian Grill in Palm Coast, Florida, after she allegedly left the scene of a crash involving a bicyclist. The incident occurred near Cypress Point Parkway.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a reported crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist. The bicyclist sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

A witness who saw the crash followed the driver's vehicle and provided deputies with the license plate number. Using that information, deputies located the vehicle and driver at a nearby Carrabba's restaurant.

When questioned by deputies, the driver denied striking the bicyclist. She told deputies the bicyclist had thrown his bicycle down and struck her vehicle with his fists. Despite her statement, deputies placed her under arrest.

She was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, a charge that applies when a driver involved in a collision resulting in injury fails to stop and provide information or render aid as required by Florida law.

The bodycam footage of the arrest was obtained through a public records request under Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes.

The case remains under investigation. The suspect faces a charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury. All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
