Teacher Arrested for DUI After Hit-and-Run in Flagler County

A teacher with 29 years of experience was arrested by Flagler County Sheriff's deputies after a hit-and-run incident in Bunnell. The educator appeared disoriented during the traffic stop, believing she was in New Smyrna Beach despite being approximately 30 miles away in Bunnell.

Deputies discovered multiple alcoholic beverages in the vehicle during their investigation. Officers found White Claw beverages in the suspect's purse, a half-empty bottle of Smirnoff vodka, and a tumbler containing alcohol inside the car.

Body camera footage shows the teacher displaying signs of impairment during field sobriety evaluations. She required physical support from a pole to maintain her balance and could not correctly identify her location when questioned by deputies. Throughout the interaction, she repeatedly addressed officers as "friend."

This incident marks the second DUI charge for the educator. When offered chemical testing to determine blood alcohol content, she refused all testing procedures offered by law enforcement.
