Deputies Find Suspicious Vehicle at Construction Site in Florida

Flagler County Sheriff's deputies responded to a construction site on Columbia Lane in Palm Coast, Florida at 1:45 AM after a neighbor reported a black SUV parked with its lights off in April 2025.

Deputies encountered a man who identified himself as David but provided inconsistent information during questioning. He gave two different birthdays, two different birth years, and two different spellings of his last name. When deputies attempted to verify his identity through databases, no records were found in any state system.

When asked about his citizenship status, the man began reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The woman behind the wheel possessed an expired driver's license from 2023. Initially, she claimed not to know what was inside the vehicle, but later indicated items were stored in a backpack.

During the encounter, a third person approached from a nearby residence carrying a unicorn bag. This individual referred to the man by a completely different name than he had provided to deputies. The conflicting identities and suspicious circumstances prompted deputies to conduct a search of the vehicle.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office obtained this footage through Florida's public records statute. The case demonstrates the challenges law enforcement faces when suspects provide false or inconsistent identifying information during investigations.
