A woman was arrested on shoplifting and drug trafficking charges after deputies responded to a theft report at a Palm Coast Walmart on March 25. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office received a call from a concerned citizen reporting suspicious activity at the retail location around 6:26 p.m.
Deputy Stanford responded to investigate the suspected larceny after reports that a white female had passed all points of sale without paying and refused to show her receipt. The initial shoplifting investigation quickly expanded when deputies discovered the suspect was allegedly trafficking methamphetamine and other narcotics.
Bodycam footage from the incident shows the arrest process as deputies conducted their investigation at the Palm Coast business. The case demonstrates how routine shoplifting calls can sometimes lead to more serious criminal discoveries during the course of police work.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has not released the suspect's name at this time. The woman faces charges related to both the alleged theft and the drug trafficking allegations discovered during the investigation.
The case remains active with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office as the investigation continues into both the shoplifting incident and the alleged drug trafficking activities.
